Additional time info:
The program will set aside period music, in favor of four new works representing a wide range of instrumental history beginning roughly in the 12th century and ending at the start of the 17th century. Composers Brent Fariss, Jon Mayse, Andrew Stoltz and Travis Weller will coax new sounds and novel musical scales from these historical instruments. NMC looks forward to sharing music that, while created today, looks back to a time when a keyboard was “cutting edge” technology.
