Ensemble VIII presents its first concert of the 2019-2020 season: Tree of Life – Bach Family Motets. The concert will be held on Friday, Oct. 4, at 7:30 p.m. at Redeemer Presbyterian Church.
During the 17th and 18th centuries the name “Bach” was synonymous with “musician.” An extensive family tree, beginning with Velt Bach in the mid-16th century, begat a family musical lineage unlike any other in history. Though Johann Sebastian Bach is considered the greatest composer of all time, his musical genius was built upon generations of predecessor Bachs who passed on a wealth of riches upon which the young Sebastian would be shaped. Tickets are $45 for priority seating (advance purchase only), $35 for regular seating and $10 for students (with ID). They can be purchased online at www.ensembleviii.org/tickets or at the door on the evening of the performance.
