Texas Independence Walking Tours at Oakwood Cemetery

Learn about the Texas 1835-1836 fight for independence in less than an hour at historic Oakwood Cemetery!

Hear the heroic stories of Oakwood Cemetery “residents” who fought in the battles of the Revolution, survived the Alamo, escaped the Goliad massacre, and helped found the Texas Republic. Free 45 minute walking tours start 10am-1pm near the newly restored Oakwood chapel.

Kids under adult supervision are welcome, but please leave your pets at home and wear closed-toed shoes. Sponsored by Save Austin’s Cemeteries.
