Ron Fink and the Rowdies have played for ATJS the past two years. Favoring the professional-level written arrangements, they have the classical training to read these intricate charts, and the innate jazz sense to make them swing. It’s a great combination and one that is difficult to bring off.
Based in Dallas, the Rowdies feature these fine musicians: Bob Krenkel on reeds, Brian Standridge on trumpet and Gene LeBeaux on trombone. Banjoist Scott Whitfield is nationally-known, and bassist Matt Tolentino is a multi-instrument talent. Kent Ellingson is a fine pianist, and Ron Fink holds the group together on drums. This will be an incredible concert and not to be missed!
