Clay Conversations – Residencies

Join the conversation as the DAC explores this year’s topic of residencies and streams resource videos from ArtAxis that highlight how to apply to ceramic residency programs and what it’s like to work at those residencies, all while discussing the Dougherty’s Visual Artist Residency Program.
Empty Puppy Bowls

Join us for the Dougherty’s Third Annual Empty Puppy Bowls event where activities will include glazing ceramic pet bowls, doggie paw prints in clay, and a photo booth; all while helping out local pet rescue organizations. So grab your furry friend and come support Austin animals!
Ceramic Photography Workshop and Meetup

Documenting your ceramic work can be intimidating, but we’re here to help you conquer it, all while you mingle with other artists from the Austin clay community. So, grab some of your work and a camera (cell phones work great!), and we’ll provide the rest of the gear and knowledge. Let’s all get together and celebrate clay! Refreshments provided.
Ghost Throwing

Ghost Throwing is a free one-time throwing class where participants will get a chance to experience the pottery wheel, take a tour of our clay studio, and glaze their creation. You might even spot Patrick Swayze! (limit 12 per class, ages 18+ only)
