Looking for Shade

A collection of 18 black and white photographs by artist John Pike are on  display on the third floor of the Bass Concert Hall. These photographs are displayed as a companion piece to the production by Teatro Línea de Sombra, Amarillo at the McCullough Theatre.

The photographs seek to expose and explore the conditions around the U.S./Mexico border as well as the Mexico/Guatemala border. The work seeks to consider the harsh conditions a migrant may face and the reality of eventually making a home in the liminal space that is the border area.
