Then pick up the Black West Austin Driving Tour (which starts at the NCHM), and explore the historic sites of the freedom colonies of Wheatville and Clarksville. It features a series of videos of celebrated Austin guides giving insights on the history of Black West Austin and begins at the Neill-Cochran House Museum. The tour is included with Museum admission from June 14-25, 2023. Signs and Symbols: The Trees are Talking is an exhibition of works of glass and oil on canvas that explores Thomas’ understanding of the way signs and symbols constantly surround us in both the natural and built environments. The exhibition is on display at the Neill-Cochran House Museum until August 13, 2023. The Museum is open Wednesdays through Sundays from 11:00 AM until 4:00 PM.
