IMMEDIATE Fashion School — Story Singing & Fashion Code Switching

Jenny Parrott tells stories with songs. Lately, her music has been talking back and telling her stories about herself in what seem like coded messages.

She believes everyone has a voice that can sing and tell stories, but oftentimes we need more safety, positivity and encouragement than are easily found.

For this workshop she will lead the group in writing a story and turning it into a song. Discuss the concept of fashion code switching, share personal stories, and brainstorm lyrics based on everyone’s experiences. Jenny will give a brief group lesson on vocal technique, put music behind your lyrics, record the song, and turn it into an mp3. Everyone will have used their voice, told a story, and been heard!
