Heart of the City is a creative collaboration that’s part picture, part story, and part outreach on behalf of musicians and music industry professionals who make Austin’s music industry what it is. Combining portraiture, written interviews, and film into a single narrative, the stories center around twelve individuals from the heart of Austin’s music ecosystem, from performers to stage managers and everything in between, all set within some of Austin’s most iconic and culture-defining venues.
Featuring figures from Austin’s past and present, the portraits will be exhibited as large-format prints accompanied by short written excerpts from each story at an opening exhibit on November 14 at Antone’s from 6:30 – 9:00 pm featuring a special guest presentation, a screening of the short documentary that chronicles the making of the project, and light appetizers.
