Greater East Austin Youth Association Central Texas Juneteenth Parade and Celebration

Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day or Juneteenth independence day, is an American holiday that commemorates the June 19, 1865, announcement of the abolition of slavery in Texas, and more generally the emancipation of enslaved African Americans

Expect to see The Bike Zoo with their Giant Eagle, Owl, Bat, Many Butterflies, Armadillo and latest work-in-progress, the Longhorn!

The Bike Zoo will have a prominent role in the parade. Spectators will have a great opportunity to see them, to take picture, and to interact with them in the post-parade celebration!

Their contribution to the parade and celebration is supported in part by the Cultural Arts Division of the City of Austin Economic Development Department
