In 1965, he formed the Young Rascals with Dino Danelli, Eddie Brigati and Gene Cornish. The group quickly caught the attention of fans, as well as Atlantic Records with their high-energy sets. Soon after changing their name to The Rascals, they struck number one on the pop charts with their mega hit, “Good Lovin’.” They followed suit with a string of hits like “I’ve Been Lonely Too Long,” “Groovin’”(which also reached number one), “How Can I Be Sure,” “A Girl Like You,” “A Beautiful Morning,” and “People Got to Be Free” (their third number one in just two years). To this day, The Rascals are considered the best ‘blue-eyed soul’ group to come out of the 1960s, as well as one of the groups with the most record sales. Few artists can claim they defined a generation, but Cavaliere continues to remind us to keep listening for the world’s beauty.
