Celso Briones is a University of Texas-educated polka Tejano/conjunto accordionist living in Houston, Texas. Playing the way one should, for pure joy and entertainment, Celso will treat the audience to a set of ranchera standards as Nudo (Joaquin Tenorio and Eric Hernandez) gradually process his sounds, building a dirge of uniquely Tejano ambiance from the traditional gait of this music.
Dromez is the long-running and venerated noise project of Liz Gomez. https://youtu.be/Pikro3kzprw

Nudo (Joaquin Tenorio and Eric Hernandez)
Nudo is an Austin, Texas-based music duo/auditory psychic handshake between Joaquin Tenorio and Eric Hernandez by way of Ciudad Juarez, Chihuaha, Mexico, and Eagle Pass, Texas, respectively. Whether presenting freeform or programmed pieces, Nudo meditate deeply on the sounds of the Texas-Mexico border region—norteño, Tejano, tribal and sonidero-style cumbia. The night’s performance will follow in the mood set by Briones’ traditional playing and utilize his accordion sounds recorded on the spot, pinching them into a free-flowing exercise in colloquial rhythms.

Maria Consuelo “Connie” Pico
Throughout the evening, Maria Consuelo “Connie” Pico will weave textures out of Hi-8 clips that she, Tenorio, and Hernandez recorded across the span of the Texas-Mexico border, holding fast to the theme of ephemera and corralled nomadism of the peoples and cultures of the region. Generating vaporous and earthen textures, Pico’s visuals will ripple like water and tick like clockwork as she codes them live with the music.
