In conjunction with Mexic-Arte Museum’s exhibition “YLA 23: Beyond Walls, Between Gates, and Under Bridges,” this workshop allows participants to learn about Chavez’s practice and bring an object of importance.
Lisette Chavez is a multi-disciplinary artist who uses a variety of media to execute her installation work. Throughout most of her childhood, Chavez was exposed to over ornamented objects in holy sanctuaries and Catholic churches. Objects of importance were often extremely opulent, a trait which she has incorporated into her own visual arts practice.
