Led by composer Justin Sherburn, Montopolis is an indie classical group from Austin, Texas. Their music folds country, folk, and rock idioms into modern classical arrangements to create “stunning and transcendent” (Austin Chronicle) concerts. They produce multi-media events that combine live music with photography and interactive story telling. The Montopolis musicians include members of the Austin Symphony, Okkervil River, The Polyphonic Spree and the Tosca String Quartet. Montopolis hopes to inspire responsible stewardship of natural resources through performances that celebrate the beauty of nature.
“This project is supported in part by the Cultural Arts Division of the City of Austin Economic Development Department.”
