Auditions for Parallel Lives, Kathy Najimy and Mo Gaffney’s hilarious cult comedy.

Where: The City Theatre. 3823 Airport Blvd. Austin, Texas 78722

Time: Tuesday and Wednesday, 5:30 p.m. – 9 p.m. Ten-minute slots by appointment. Callbacks if needed. Show dates May 30 – June 15, with rehearsals beginning the end of April.
Needed: No prepared monologue is needed. Readings from the show will be performed, so be familiar with the show. Sides will be available on the website a few days before auditions. You may be asked to stay beyond the ten-minute appt. time and read with other auditioners. Please bring headshot and resume. Casting both female roles. Directed by City Theatre Artistic Director Andy Berkovsky.

Welcome to the outrageous universe of Kathy and Mo, two actresses who come together for a total of twenty-five or so odd characters – emphasis on “odd’ and “characters” – in the wildest of comic sketches examining the plight of women, in all her forms. With boundless humor, no stone is left unturned in this riotous skewering of misogyny, sexual identity, religion, homophobia, childbirth, friendship, growing up and growing old, and the ongoing quest to find love in a modern world handicapped by capricious gods – or in this case goddesses.
