A personal tale of a life interrupted by Colombia’s regional violence. After her village is terrorized by guerrilla warfare, a young woman named Alicia is able to track down the one relative that might take her in—an uncle who runs a lakeside hostel in the Andean highlands. Adapting to her new life, Alicia is haunted by the trauma that made her a refugee.
