Pre-Show: Interactive Human Sculpture Garden

Starting at 7:30, there will be a sculpture garden with real humans for the audience to explore with enjoying their refreshments before the show. With a line-up of different artist each evening, performers will pose on the lawn and will shift to new poses over time as the audience is encouraged to gently move or instruct the living sculptures to new shapes creating compositions and tableaus of their own design.

Dance 1: Drive -In

Evoking the setting of a drive-in in east Austin, 11:11:07 takes place at the studio and homestead of Jonathan Beall’s Sertodo Copper. Performing to original music by William West, dancers will move in, out, and around their own cars, which some audience members will be seated in. To provide the dancers’ score, these audience members will also tune into the show’s own radio station, and involve the cars’ headlights within the professional lighting design of Stephen Pruitt. Other audience members will be seated around cars, and with windows down and radios on, these vehicles will inform the dancers movement, generated over three weeks in an environment of fireflies, headlights, and dusky twilight. Dance 2: Sweet Lilium

Sweet Lilium is a part of Myers’ Thank You Notes Project, pulling movement, and sound (arranged by John Gable of Knifight) from a series of writing/dance-based workshops that focus on dealing with the strong emotions surrounding the loss of loved ones.  Out of ashes comes new life, and out of darkness comes the light.
