  • Anne Heller
    Anne Heller
Media; Performing Arts: Actor, Dancer, Musician; Visual Arts: Film, New Media/Technology, Painting, Performance Art
Anne Heller is a musician (guitar, drums and theremin), dancer and aerialist, writer, videographer, filmmaker and painter. She aims to utilize all her skills (or as many as possible) in any project she tackles. Heller has been an artist her whole life, from the experimental rock/jazz bands and collectives she has participated in and created over the past 20 years, to the short horror and comedy films created for 48 hour film fests over the past 15 years, to her annual 3-day experimental music fest now in its 18th year, to the aerialist feats she performs daily in front of audiences.  I have concentrated on improvisational skills as she feel it’s a more genuine method of communication, verbally, non-verbally and through sound. She plays guitar, drums and theremin in 5 separate bands. Heller is known for her unusual theremin style where she concentrates her sounds in the lower register using the theremin as a bass instrument instead of a melodic one (though she does that, too). Heller has always been interested in healing the planet and those upon it through her art, my music and actions as a whole. She wants to create an equilibrium with my art and music.
  • Ian Humphrey
    Ian Humphrey
Literary Arts; Performing Arts: Radio/Television, Spoken Word; Podcast
Ian Humphrey started writing in at age eight in a feminist commune spitting distance from the Mason Dixon. Later, in Baltimore City, he worked part time at a YWCA Woman’s Shelter, and squired a full contact jousting company at the MD Renaissance Festival. He studied fiction at Evergreen State College and University of Baltimore in between drinks and drugs, and when his last bridge burned he went into self-appointed exile floating through the South-West.  Since then he has drafted two novels and developed the up and coming magixploitation podcast, Under The Shroud.
  • Curse Mackey
    Curse Mackey
Graphic Arts; Media; Performing Arts: Musician, Spoken Word, Vocalist; Visual Arts: Construction/Collage, Mixed Media, New Media/Technology, Painting, Performance Art
Austin based artist Curse Mackey is best known as lead singer of industrial supergroup PIGFACE and notorious Texas tribal-industrial legends EVIL MOTHERS and as a member of My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult. Mackey has now launched a solo electronic industrial project that includes new material and revamps of classic Pigface and Evil Mothers songs (including Spider Sex and Car Wrecks.) His sound is a future-forward homage to the experimental side of industrial music, with doom-fueled drones, sinister synth pulsations and dirty-minded beats layered upon hypnotic noise manipulations, scream of conscious lyrical prose and near trance-inducing improvisations that evoke the ghosts of Throbbing Gristle, early Skinny Puppy, Lustmord, Coil, and the iconic projects Mackey has been a part of. PIGFACE has also featured such luminaries as Ogre of Skinny Puppy, Martin Atkins of Ministry/Killing Joke, En Esch of KMFDM, Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails, Genesis P-Orridge of Psychic TV and Danny Carey of Tool, just to name a few.) Mackey is also the co-founder/COO of Mosaic Sound Collective in Austin, TX.

I work with curators to help share historical content through the new medium of location-based augmented reality. “Voces in AR” features WWII Mexican American Veteran content from the University of Texas’ Voces Oral History Project. Additionally, I’m working on a project featuring Comanche Chief Quanah Parker and building a relationship with the Quanah Parker family as I collect their historical content in digital form. I’ve been a featured speaker for social media groups, public groups and I regularly reported breaking news as a lead reporter at KUT, KVUE and KRGV-TV.  The McCombs Business School has invited me to guest lecture multiple times on the use of geo-rich social media data for intelligence and real-time engagement efforts.

  • Margarita Navarrete-Hutchinson
    Margarita Navarrete-Hutchinson
Literary Arts; Performing Arts: Dancer, Musician, Vocalist; Visual Arts: Instructor, Performance Art
I am a functional movement artist–I blend together my love of neuro-science, my nearly 2 decades of massage practice, 15 years of flow-arts practice, vocal and creative skills–to provide and self-produce an intuitive movement program, with prevention in mind. COVID-19 has given me the opportunity to get to use my different skills and talents together; I didn’t think I was actually going to use my BA in Media Production from the University of Houston–and I’m pleased that I am. I get to sing; I get to dance; and I get to guide others through the process of consciously embodying their vessels, as present navigators who are curiously and mindfully exploring their spheres…with attention to their bio-mechanical design, and honoring their unique dimensions. Intuitive Living is an art form. It takes practice. My goal is to support my own vessel as I guide other vessels through a functional movement practice that is gentle and effective; that supports mobility, flexibility, balance, core strength, and creativity. I want more navigators to feel as confident and capable moving their vessels through their spheres, as I do. My journey was guided by chronic pain; my parameters are Myofascial Pain Syndrome and Delayed Pressure Urticaria. I created a movement program that effectively supports and mobilizes my body, without triggering either condition; I want to pass it on to others with the same conditions–with the hopes EIM will help them as much as it benefits me. Life is a trip!
