About Wells Mason
A graudate of the University of Texas, Mason is no stranger to the Austin art scene. From 1996-2000, he was co-owner of a contemporary art gallery in central, Austin, showing work by up-and-comers like urban artist Stephen Tompkins and outsider artist Daniel Johnston. Since 2000, Mason’s studio has been headquarted in Coupland, Texas- just 40 minutes northeast of Austin. Mason’s cutting edge furniture designs and provocative sculptures have garnered critical acclaim through solo exhibitions in Dallas and New York City, as well as local attention in Arthouse’s “New American Talent” Exhibition Series in 2006 and 2009. His work was also recently feautured in Forbes magazine.
