The home stage for St. Edward's University, situated on a hill facing north that provides an unobstructed and breathtaking view of downtown Austin. The Mary Moody Northen Theatre (MMNT) boasts one of the city's few stages in the round, which the St. Edward's theatre department has used to stage works as diverse as Black Elk Speaks and A Day in Hollywood/A Night at the Ukraine. Other past performances include famous works such as A Midsummer Night's Dream, Camelot, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, and Romeo and Juliet. The University's theater program is grounded in classroom training mixed with production experience. In addition MMNT invites guest artists from the world of professional theater, film and television to work with faculty and students in production. By providing students with the basic training, education and experience necessary for the pursuit of theater careers in professional, educational or community theaters, MMMT achieves very unique goals.
