    Carver Museum & Cultural Center has the distinction of being the first African-American neighborhood museum in the state of Texas. The museum collects, preserves and exhibits artifacts documenting the history of African-Americans from Austin, Central Texas and beyond. It also promotes a climate of which African-American artists can be recognized and appreciated for their culturally diverse heritage. Hours: Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9:30am-6:00pm, Tuesday and Thursday 9:30am-8:00pm, Saturday 1:00pm-5:00pm, Closed Sunday Price: Free Admission
