Barton Springs Pool

The Barton Springs Pool is 3 acres in size and is fed from under ground springs and is about 68 degrees all year round. Barton Springs is the fourth largest natural springs in the state and was created as a result of a land shift that created the Balcones Fault millions of year ago. The pool has been a popular swimming destination for years, but has attracted more visitors since it became part of the Zilker Metropolitan Park in 1917. Its popularity brings a variety of activities to the pool including family picnics, social gatherings, musical performances, fishing, and, of course, swimming.
