Actor - Director - Filmmaker - Performance Artist - Poet - Writer
About the artist:
For the majority of my life, I have been involved in theatre arts and performance in various capacities and forms. From sweeping stage floors, to mounting underfunded, but spectacular productions, I continue to engage with the magic of live performance as both ritual and entertainment. As a critic, a theorist, and a receptive audience member, I welcome opportunities to commune with liveness and presence, smell and body, sound and sight. As an artist, I aim to amaze, entice, revolt, and endear audiences that enter the space or become witness to the modality. Past projects include: Wake for the Dark Poet: The Antonin Artaud Project (B. Iden Payne award for Outstanding Production of a Drama), 2004 Ring, Rip, Rent by playwright Martha Lynn Coon, 2006 senses for the Under the Radar ACTLab media festival, 2006. In addition, I have written and performed dozens of performance art pieces for theatre festivals, showcases, and venue special nights. I am also a mother and everyday I discover new, exciting ways to love another human being. B.A. Anthropology, University of Texas at Austin M.A. Performance Studies, New York University Currently a PhD Candidate in the Performance as Public Practice Program, University of Texas at Austin.
