    Writer - Producer

    About the artist:

Nancy Mohn Barnard is the founder of Violet Crown Community Theater where she has produced three plays in the past two years: "Jack and the Beanstalk," "Rumpelstiltskin,"and "The Amazing, Unforgettable, Mixed-up Adventures of Hansel and Gretel." Barnard is currently producing her fourth play, an adaption of Hans Christian Andersen's "Thumbelina." Barnard created Violet Crown Community Theater in order to provide free children's theater to the Austin community; nurture directors, writers, actors and others who are interested in theater; and to provide a creative platform for community building. A true community theater, anyone with an interest in theater or learning about the performing arts is encouraged to participate. Barnard is also developing her playwright ability. She has adapted and co-written both "Hansel and Gretel" and "Thumbelina" for the stage.
