TUTTO Theatre Company proudly announces its next production, I Witness, an evening of dance (and spoken-word) with choreography by Amanda Oakley, Shawn Nasralla, and Jennifer Micallef. We are witnesses to the world around us, and yet we are also an inexorable part of each scene, often simultaneously, the viewer and the viewed. As such we are presented with a deluge of choices: Detachment? Attachment? Do we choose to see? To see nothing? To look too intently? To look away? How many of us simply stand apart from our own lives? What do we choose to witness? Our lives? Our truth? Our discoveries? Our growth? Our failures? Our friends? Our neighbors? What happens when we truly see an object, an event, a scene, or another individual? What is really there? Who do we become?

Kevin McDonald, one of the founding members of the legendary sketch troupe The Kids in the Hall, presents his one-man show "Hammy and the Kids." McDonald will discuss working with The Kids in the Hall, and coping with his alcoholic father. It's one part comedy, one part tragedy, and one part singing. Kevin apologizes in advance for his inability to sing.

Joshua Conkel's MilkMilkLemonade premiered in New York in 2009 to across-the-board rave reviews, hailed as a "hilariously absurd and moving tale" (Broadway World) and "like something Edward Albee might have written for a pair of 10-year-old protagonists...bitterly funny and broadly satiric" (nytheatre.com). Voted "Best Off-Off Broadway Show in 2009” by the New York Press and receiving 4 stars from TimeoutNY, the play was noted as “the campy kind of ridiculousness that allows Conkel to delve into the darker side of childhood” (Backstage).

Muses IV provides a new twist this year from the past productions. Muses I - III featured many individuals' lives throughout the house, creating distinctly unique times and settings as the audience stepped through each doorway. This year, local Austin playwrights are provided with a snapshot of a family of five characters who live in the house. While traveling from room to room in this beautiful and historical home, audience members will happen upon moments that construct the web of this family's history, blurring the line between time, real life, and the theatre. From photographs and a tour inside the house, playwrights create scenes that bring each room to life in a different way.

Blue Lapis Light presents its latest site-specific aerial dance work, One, at the Long Center for the Performing Arts. Dancers will perform on the ring and columns of the innovative concrete structure. Since 2006 Blue Lapis Light has transformed prominent and historic buildings in downtown Austin into meaningful works of uplifting beauty. One is inspired by the modern architecture of the Long Center.

Gemini Playhouse owner and theatre artist Anita A. Ahiadormey makes her playwrighting debut with the new play Raped Clarity. Running September 9th through 19th, a portion of the proceeds from the production will benefit SafePlace. Written and directed by Ahiadormey, the story follows Kensington Roberts as she navigates the new terrain of her life following a brutal attack. Roberts struggles to confront her present and past with the aid of her bold counselor. Ahiadormey says the play gives a gritty and powerful insight into the effects of rape, domestic violence and one woman's struggle to overcome it.
