Austin City Ballet

The Austin City Ballet formerly known as The Conservatory Dance Theatre, established in 1991, presented the sixth annual “Austin Children’s Nutcracker” for sold-out audiences last December. It is a non-profit organization that emphasizes theatrical dancing through ballet and jazz technique utilizing dancers age 7-18. The En Avant Dance Company, a more technically advanced performance group, explores contemporary movement through classical ballet technique as well as jazz and modern dance influences.

    04/17/09- 04/18/09	The Dream Dougherty Arts Center Theatre The Dream Presented by Austin City Ballet at Dougherty Arts Center Theatre April 17-April 18, 2009 The Austin City Ballet presents a collection of contemporary works including A Midsummer Night's Dream and featuring guest artists, En Avant Dance Company presenting "As it Was...Is....Will Be" (in honor of those we have loved and lost to HIV and AIDS).  There will also be a debut performance by the Borealis Dance Company.
    03/29/08- 03/30/08	Aladdin Dougherty Arts Center Theatre Aladdin Presented by Austin City Ballet at Dougherty Arts Center Theatre March 29-March 30, 2008 Aladdin, brought to life by over 40 Austin area dancers, will captivate young children as well as adults. Event Information: Wear a costume and receive a free cookie and meet the cast of Aladdin after the show.
    03/28/08- 03/29/08	Vida Dougherty Arts Center Theatre Vida Presented by Austin City Ballet at Dougherty Arts Center Theatre March 28-March 29, 2008 Austin City Ballet presents Vida featuring variations from the ballets Don Quixote, Paquita and Raymonda.
    03/31/07- 04/01/07	Snow White Dougherty Arts Center Theatre Snow White Presented by Austin City Ballet at Dougherty Arts Center Theatre March 31-April 1, 2007 The Austin City Ballet and The Austin City Youth Ballet will present Snow White under the direction of Carol Feille D’Avila. Snow White, brought to life by over 40 Austin area dancers, will captivate young children as well as adults. En Avant Dance Company debuts a special contemporary performance featuring vocal accompaniment by Voce Divina.
    03/30/07- 04/01/07	An Evening at the Ballet Dougherty Arts Center Theatre An Evening at the Ballet Presented by Austin City Ballet at Dougherty Arts Center Theatre March 30-April 1, 2007 The Austin City Ballet and The Austin City Youth Ballet will present An Evening at the Ballet March 30th through April 1st under the direction of Carol Feille D’Avila. An Evening at the Ballet features excerpts from The Sleeping Beauty, Romeo and Juliet, Firebird, and Coppelia. En Avant Dance Company debuts a special contemporary performance featuring vocal accompaniment by Voce Divina.
