"The sound of Christmas"

We all know what Christmas smells like: cinnamon, pine, open fires and eggnog. The Early Texas Music project presents what Christmas sounds like: the ageless sounds of early music that hearken Father Christmas and the lightness of angels. If you have a chance to hear their last concert, don't miss it. Absolutely magical. The voices are superb, and the instrumentation is flawless. It is a rare treat to hear Early Music (English, Irish, Norwegian, etc.) anywhere and even rarer treat to hear it done so well. The instrumentation includes several different types of harps, flute, violin, cello etc. The voices of the small ensemble of about 10 singers are unforgettable. One concert made me a lifetime fan of this superb community effort.

A little hard to find, parking at a premium better get there early. Once the music begins, well worth the extra challenges, the sweet and emotional sounds fill the little church, if the rest of the productions are like this one, it is a must DO. Loved it

"You will get your money's worth from Texas Early Music Proj"

If you have any interest in the music of the Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque periods, you MUST go to the concerts of the Texas Early Music Project. This concert leaned heavily to instrumental music, played expertly and beautifully on period instruments. The few vocalists were also very talented and expert in their interpretation. Their next concert will be entirely vocal, so you can get a wonderful evening of either period instruments or vocals or both at a TEMP concert.
This group has been around for over 20 years, and they have a fine group of local artists as well as national connections to produce very remarkable music. This review is general by request but I will mention Daniel Johnson, the Artistic Director, is very dedicated and capable.
I do not generally gush, but I must give TEMP my very highest recommendation.
