McCallum High School Fine Arts Center

The Theatre at McCallum Fine Arts Academy is Austin's largest high school theatre program with a four year preparatory curriculum in the arts. They offer the community unique seasons that reflect the progressive Austin community and is the only technical theatre program of its kind in the state. The Academy features 8 Main Stage and 4 Second Stage shows every year.

      Evita at McCallum Fine Arts Academy. Bravado performance by cast and orchestra, doing a high wire act stretched between two languages. Cast A's Sarah Miller-Crews as Evita is intense, melodic and convincing; Avery Martin as Juan Péron is solid earth to Sarah's fire. Most of the men need haircuts so they don't look like Texas adolescents. Collapse

      I have just arrived home from seeing this amazing performance put on by the Mccallum Theater. I am currently a student at Mccallum, enrolled in the Band program. Tonight, Mccallum gave one of it's best performances yet. The story is complex and interesting, while the actors make you understand who their characters are. Austin Hyde plays an amazing Otto Berg,and really lets you see his perspective on things. When paired with Avery Martin, there's no flaws. It was simply amazing. Collapse

      I honestly am writing this less than an hour after I was sitting at McCallum crying. This play was put on extraordinarily well, and I am very proud of all the staff and crew.
