      Ghetto Klown is a high-energy, 2.5 hour multi-media presentation in which John Leguizamo tells a story of his life, his "loves", his successes and his failures. The performance is given in the beautiful Paramount Theatre - always a treat. This show is a must-see for any die-hard Leguizamo fan. Collapse

      In his latest one-man show, Ghetto Klown, Leguizamo punctures Hollywood and the profit-driven movie making industry with bitter honesty and handles the subject with the skills and grace of a master poet-performer. He seduces us through his hip thrusting dance moves, or slick-shoe floor-sliding or with his vapid perspective delivered with comedic flair. He’s simply in command of his body and voice. Leguizamo highlights climatic moments and impersonates characters (celebrities, friends and lovers) from his life using articulated gestures with confidence and accuracy. He takes the audience on a journey through the trials and tribulations of upward mobility—stardom style. He reveals his manic depressive patterns of creative outbursts, his failed relationships, and his once-failing career, only to unwrap himself from a cocoon of self-perpetuating solitude and misery through theatrical performance presentation. He reigns in his show as a theatrical wonder and as a filmic delicacy. Collapse

      The audience for "Ghetto Klown" who were obvious fans of Mr. Leguizamo were extremely enthusiastic and supportive. While I admire his work, his life story doesn't differ much from many other artists: Guy from disfunctional family labled a "trouble maker" discovers he can express himself through the performing arts. His sucess comes with a price and he eventually learns that family is more important. I think I would have enjoyed it more if he told his story in less than 2 hours and 45 minutes. 1 hour with no intermission would have sufficed. Collapse
