Founded in 1983 by raúlrsalinas, Xicanindio poet and human rights activist, Red Salmon Arts (RSA) is a grassroots Native American/ Chicana/o based literary and cultural arts organization. RSA advocates a vision of arts programming as an instrument for community empowerment and transformation. RSA brings established, groundbreaking, and emerging writers, artists, cultural workers, scholars, and educators to the underserved Indigenous, Latina/o, and Black communities of South and East Austin, Texas. It facilitates literary workshops, book signings, poetry readings, and musical collaborations to create safe spaces for intergenerational dialogue, healing, and civic engagement.

This project is funded and supported in part by a grant from the Texas Commission on the Arts and in part by the City of Austin Economic Development Department/Cultural Arts Division believing an investment in the Arts is an investment in Austin’s future. Visit Austin at NowPlayingAustin.com.
