The Out of Bounds Comedy Festival s a 7-day live performance festival in Austin that showcases some of the best in improv, sketch, stand-up, and filmed comedy from all over the country. The festival also includes a miniature golf tournament where performers compete to win the Ridiculous Jacket, a trophy unrivalled in mini sports.

oob’s mission is to endeavor to enrich the communities of Central Texas through the education, performance, and promotion of the live comedic arts.  Performances during the festival happen at various theaters in Austin.

The Out of Bounds Improv Festival and Miniature Golf Tournament was founded in 2002 by Well Hung Jury’s Jeremy Lamb, as a way to get troupes from Texas and beyond to come and enjoy the Austin comedy scene. In the intervening years, the festival has expanded from a handful of troupes, mostly from Texas, performing on one stage for a couple of days, to a seven-day festival at several venues featuring troupes from across the country.

This project is funded and supported in part by a grant from the Texas Commission on the Arts and in part by the City of Austin Economic Development Department/Cultural Arts Division believing an investment in the Arts is an investment in Austin’s future. Visit Austin at NowPlayingAustin.com.
