EsquinaTango Cultural Society of Austin is a non-profit organization striving to build a vibrant and diverse community in East Austin and beyond through culture, health, and dance, with an emphasis on Latino heritage, recreational tango and other Argentine traditions, fostering personal wellness, and promoting understanding of Latino culture.

    04/20/10- Ongoing	Conversational Spanish Classes Esquina Tango Conversational Spanish Classes Presented by EsquinaTango Cultural Society of Austin at Esquina Tango April 20, 2010 - Ongoing Conversational group open to all levels of experience. We will chat, read articles, watch movies and conduct other activities to improve students’ understanding of the Spanish language (listening and speaking). * Note: this group is meant to get you comfortable talking and listening. To learn in a relaxed environment...but it won't take the place of Spanish Class (you still have to go get some of that grammar and language foundation).
    03/06/10- Ongoing	Forró Calsses: Famous Brazilian Dance Forró Calsses: Famous Brazilian Dance Presented by EsquinaTango March 6, 2010 - Ongoing Pronounced fo-ho, Forró refers to the music, dance, and social gathering from rural Northeast Brazil. In this class, students will learn several related couples’ dances: Forró, Xote, and Marchinha. Forró is incredibly happy music and the dances are accessible to newcomers. No partner needed.

This classes will focus on the fun and popular Brazilian street dance styles known as samba reggae and baile funk. No partner needed.

Basic & Intermediate levels, new topics each month. Intermediate classes will help you improve your salsa/Latin dancing at any level. Intense spins practice, body isolation, footwork and lead/follow techniques will be covered. No partner needed.
    08/04/09- Ongoing	Samba Classes at EsquinaTango Samba Classes at EsquinaTango Presented by EsquinaTango August 4, 2009 - Ongoing This class will cover the fundamentals of samba as it is danced in the Bahia and Rio regions of Brazil. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the basic samba step, developing proper technique, and learning a range of movements and footwork associated with each regional style. This type of samba should not be confused with "ballroom samba", so no partner is necessary.
