'Trapped in a world he never made!' Howard the Duck burst into existence in 1973 and became an unlikely star of the Marvel Comics universe, gaining such a mighty following that the fowl-mouthed freak was somehow entered into the real-life 1976 presidential campaign. But despite his popularity, Howard was the perennial outsider. So was his creator Steve Gerber, a too-smart-for-his-own-good comics writer that breathed new life into non-adolescent four-color funnies and was often maligned for his individuality and integrity. Gerber passed away this February, and we're hellbent on paying tribute to his relentless originality with this extremely rare 35mm screening. Admittedly, Gerber hated this George Lucas-produced, big budget, effects laden barnstormer...but hey, so did the critics! We don't care! Howard's the best talking duck in history and we're proud to salute the man who gave him life. Helpful Information: All patrons must be 18 years or older or be accompanied by a parent. Children under 6 are not admitted at any time.
