JC Bach (JS Bach’s youngest son) and Carl Friedrich Abel (the last great Baroque-era gamba player) experimented in 1765 with a concert series performing the works of popular and up-and-coming composers like Haydn. The “experiment” was wildly popular and continued for nearly 20 years. La Follia recreates the exciting music performed at these concerts. There are no jugglers and no comics, but something like the Beatles and Mommas and Papas on Ed Sullivan’s show. Bill Cory, fortepiano joins as guest artist.
