The play is Troades (Greek for The Trojan Women), the legend of the women of Troy at the conclusion of the ten-year war with the Greek armies. The Greeks laid siege to Troy and engaged in heroic battles in order to retrieve the great beauty, Helen (of Troy), eventually resorting to the trick of the great (Trojan) Horse filled with soldiers. Now the survivors of the war, the women of Troy, discover that this end of war is only a beginning. Helpful Information: There will be a reception Friday, March 7, 2008 at 10:00pm in honor of Sean T.C. O’Malley, composer of the original score for Troades: The Legend of the Trojan Women.
