The 10th Anniversary Production of La Pastorela in Austin will see the return of some of the players who planted its roots in 1997; directing in 2007 is the original Director and Producer of the 1997 show, Tomas Salas along with Co-Director Marita De La Torre who has been part of the show since 1999. A talented cast and crew of more than thirty will take the stage at the new MACC, singing traditional as well as new songs written for the show by Tomas Salas. The script has been collaboratively adapted by the participants over the past ten years, emphasizing the diversity of Austin , while preserving the classic story line of angels versus devils on the journey of the shepherds to Bethlehem . Come celebrate the season Austin-style as we invite you to participate in this historical performance of La Pastorela. An exhibit complete with photographs, memorabilia and statements from the innumerable actors, directors, singers, dancers and technicians whose lives and artistic experience have been enriched by participating in La Pastorela over the past ten years will be on display in the lobby area during the run of the show.
