Since its founding in1999, Kathy Dunn Hamrick Dance Company has premiered twenty-five original contemporary dances in its hometown, Austin, Texas. Hamrick’s collaborations with composers, visual artists, musicians and filmmakers provide her dances with a colorful and dynamic richness. Audiences and critics alike applaud the choreography for its combined athleticism and expression, and, quite often, for its wit and humor. Over the years, the company has accumulated numerous awards and recognitions including “Top Ten Dance Events” by the Austin Chronicle and “Outstanding Dance Concert” by the Austin Critics Table and invitations to perform at prestigious dance festivals, conferences and other events.
