The Odyssey
November 4, 2007
Add Review/CommentAustin Children's Choir sets sail on their 22nd Concert Season with the world premiere of The Odyssey - a new work for children's choir from composer Graham Reynolds and librettist Beverly Bardsley - commissioned by Sara Jarvis Jones. The work, which was 'workshopped' in May 2007, is the first of three major performances for the organization including Passage of the Underground Railroad (a collaboration with the Carver Museum for Black History Month) in February and Around the World in Eighty Days in May with Grammy Award winners Eric Tingstad and Nance Rumbel. As our community's long-standing youth choral group, Austin Children's Choir boasts an enrollment of 150 singers from 45 area schools and rehearses weekly on campuses throughout Austin and Round Rock.
