Dance Repertory Theatre, UT's award-winning student dance company, presents seven performances, including excerpts of Twyla Tharp's rare production The Fugue*, staged by Guest Repetiteur, Shelley Washington. Washington, who joined the Twyla Tharp Dance Company in 1975 continues to work with Ms. Tharp by setting, staging, and directing ballets for various companies on her behalf. Only a handful of companies have been granted license to perform The Fugue*, since it's premiere in 1970. Tharp explains, 'It's the first piece of mine I consider intact. I take it personally, very seriously.'
