Happy Journey is a simple story of Pa and Ma and the two children who journey from Newark in the family Chevrolet to be it their married daughter in Camden. The American scene, and home are drastically drawn while the figure of the mother stands out as a brilliant piece of portraiture representing the backbone of the nation. Pullman Car is a novel play without scenery from the Pulitzer Prize-winning writer. The Pullman car personifies towns it passes through as well as the eight passengers whose partial life stories are shown within the car. The weather, the hours of the night, the planets are likewise speaking parts.
