Hot September Flurries 2007: A modern dance event! Celebrating diversity of contemporary dance in Austin. This September, a collective of dance artists are creating the most innovative modern dance in the city, bringing together a new generation of choreographers for a month of inspiring art and movement. Each week has a different line-up of artists mixing a myriad of movement aesthetics and collaborations with visual artists and composers. The Hot September Flurries showcase, rich in its artistic diversity, promises to be challenging and fun, breathing new life to contemporary dance in Austin. Performance Schedule: Show 1: Solo Flurries (9/14-9/16) Featuring Chika Aluka, Megan Brooker, Amanda Butterfield,Caroline Sutton Clark/ Wicked Cricket Dance Theatre, Sharon Marroqu n, Mandie Suzann Pitre/Wanderlust Dance Theater, Zenobia Taylor/Getalong Gang Show 2: Group Flurries (9/21-9/23) Featuring MACDAC (Mary A. Chase Dance Arts Collective) Andrea Comola, Chika Aluka & Paula Higa, David Justin of ARE (American Repertory Ensemble), Sharon Marroqu n, Lisa Nicks, Leslie Scates (Houston), Kate Warren. Show 3: Spank Dance Company (9/28-9/30) Featuring 4 Red Lines and Cool Dance: Flowers, Balloons and Bon Voyage and video by Colin Lowry and original music by Andy Hadaway.
