Lucy is a four-year-old girl with a very active imagination. Unfortunately, her imaginary friend Mr. Marmalade doesn’t have much time for her. Not to mention he beats up his personal assistant, has a cocaine addiction, and a penchant for pornography. Larry, her only real friend, is the youngest suicide attempt in the history of New Jersey. Mr. Marmalade is a savage black comedy about what it takes to grow up in these difficult times.

      I got the chance to see this hilarious production on preview night and I enjoyed every moment of it. It is a highly irreverent comedy performed beautifully by an incredibly talented cast.

      I got the chance to see this hilarious production on preview night and I enjoyed every moment of it. It is a highly irreverent comedy performed beautifully by an incredibly talented cast. The story was sort of American Psycho meets the Velveteen Rabbit, and its so funny you might not realize it has meaning. In fact i think it has a rather poignant message, but even if all you get from it is an hour and a half of laughter and shrieking, then its surely worth the 'trip'. Collapse
