Moonlight and Magnolias
April 13-May 13, 2007
Add Review/CommentAustin Playhouse proudly presents the fresh, fast-paced comedy Moonlight and Magnolias! Inspired by actual events, the comedy takes audiences on a behind-the-scenes romp through the frenzied creation of Gone With the Wind. After filming has already begun on the legendary motion picture, temperamental producer David O. Selznick fires the original director and closes down production. He pulls director Victor Fleming off the set of a little movie called The Wizard of Oz and brings in Academy Award winning writer Ben Hecht to re-write the script (which has already been written many, many times). Selznick keeps the three men locked in his office for one week as they act out Margaret Mitchell’s book to create a new script for the legend that will become Gone With the Wind!
