79th Annual Zilker Park Kite Festival

It's a free, fun, family event - everyone is welcome! Kite flying demonstrations, giant kites, kids activities, moonwalks, make a kite, rock wall climbing and much more. Come hungry, delicious foods of all kinds will be prepared fresh at the event. Compete with your homemade kite in the kite contest and win a trophy. Free shuttle rides and free parking in downtown garages. The Exchange Club of Austin and the City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department sponsor the event. A percentage from vendor sales benefit non-profits working to break the cycle of child abuse. Rain date is Sunday March 11, 2007.
