Afterplay is a romantic gem from Irish author Brian Friel. This acclaimed one-act play reintroduces audiences to two famous Chekhov characters: Sonya from Uncle Vanya and Andrey from Three Sisters. The characters meet in a Russian cafe twenty years after their original stories ended. Their touching encounter beautifully expands on Chekhov’s tradition. Friel is the celebrated Irish dramatist of such modern Irish classics as Translations and Dancing at Lughnasa.
