Will van Overbeek: Photographs of Barton Springs
May 19-August 12, 2007
Add Review/CommentWill van Overbeek graduated in 1978 from the University of Texas where he studied under photographer Garry Winogrand. Van Overbeek's first major project was a photo documentary book entitled AGGIES: Life in the Corps of Cadets at Texas A&M. His photography has been published in numerous magazines including National Geographic Traveler, New York Times Magazine, Texas Monthly, and Smithsonian. His work has been honored in the photo annuals of American Photography, Graphics, and Communication Arts. The photographer resides in Austin. It was there that he created the refreshingly playful series about Austin’s landmark swimming hole over the course of ten years.
