UT Dance Repertory Theatre faculty (Holly Williams, Yacov Sharir, Andrea Beckham), graduate students (Charlotte Griffin, Mary Chase) and guest artists (Harrison McEldowney and Onye Ozuzu) present an evening of world premieres in new dance and dance-for-the-camera. Movement...one means to an end. Highlights include 'Aria Redux', a high-octane Moulin Rouge-style work, in which Chicago-based choreographer Harrison McEldowney, along with designer Jennifer Madison, synthesizes the idea of discarded porcelain dolls with classic opera arias restyled by the East Village Opera Company and Freddie Mercury. The result is both intriguing and daringly physical. This piece was recently performed at the American College Dance Festival in Fort Worth. Performance Location: B. Iden Payne Theatre.
