THEATRE
The Persecution and Assassination of Jean-Paul Marat
February 23-March 4, 2007
Add Review/CommentThe UT Department of Theatre & Dance presents The Persecution and Assassination of Jean-Paul Marat as Performed by the Inmates of the Asylum of Charenton Under the Direction of the Marquis de Sade. Marat/Sade (for short) is a profound meditation on the nature of revolution, on power and its abuses, means and ends, and great theater to boot! Peter Weiss has written a marvelous drama, both entertaining and thoughtful. It is, undoubtedly, one of the great works of the 1960's. Credits: Directed by Kent De Spain Performance Location: This play is being performed at the Oscar G. Brockett Theatre.
