Trickster
January 13-February 10, 2007
Add Review/CommentVortex presents Trickster, the premiere of a new music comedy featuring mythological Tricksters from diverse cultures. The wily Coyote, Fox, Spider, Monkey, Raven, Fool and other clever tricksters populate this multi-cultural world of surprises, music, and, of course, tricks. Magical illusions, lush music, hot dancing, and theatrical daring enliven a night of stories about those who make human life edgy, unsure, and risky. This comical romp into mythology, pop culture, and magic tricks seeks to discover who is the tricksiest of the Tricksters. A distinct departure from much of the original work created by Vortex, Trickster spins a joyous stylistic leap for Cullum, best known for Dark Goddess, Vampyress, The X&Y Trilogy, Despair’s Book of Dreams and the Sometimes Radio, Moby Dick, and Romeo and Juliet. Credits: Conceived and Directed by Bonnie Cullum Please note: ASL Interpreted Friday, January 19, 2007
