    An Evening of Enchanting Mohiniyattam

A beautiful evening of dance featuring the iconic Dr. Neena Prasad!
    http://www.neenaprasad.com/

This evening of Mohiniyattam seeks to recreate the magic of the glorious bygone days of classical dance, set in a beautiful, lamplit venue in the midst of the tranquility and beauty of nature, the air fragrant with divine love! This will be a limited-seating, intimate gathering of like-minded art connoisseurs, a real chance to experience classical dance in its truest and most potent of spiritual and meditative energies!

Dr. Neena Prasad will be accompanied by Sri Madhavan Nampoothiri (Vocal), Ramesh Babu (Mridangam), and S.P. Ananthapadmanabha (violin).

Dr. Neena Prasad will be presenting "Ramam Bhaje Shyamalam" as a celebration of "Rama Navami" with an evening of exquisite Mohiniyattam performance on April 7th at 7:00pm.

"Ramam Bhaje Shyamalam" is a celebration of Rama Navami and will showcase the beauty and glories of Lord Rama. Dr. Neena will be presenting a beautiful and rare Swati Thirunnal Varnam. Here is a selection from Leela Venkataraman's review of this beautiful presentation at Konark last year:

"Maharaja Swati Tirunal’s Stava Varnam in imperial Shankarabharanam, in Neena’s choreography became an interesting rhythm/mime blend, the dramatic narration based on less well-known episodes surrounding Rama – who discreetly eradicates the ego of archery experts Arjuna and Hanuman, who realize their expertise paling in comparison to Rama’s prowess. The next segment of the varnam portrayed a humbled Manmatha on seeing Rama, the very epitome of beauty - a quality he regarded as his main virtue. The interspersed jatis, knitting together the sahitya, with the changing accenting, came as crisp rhythmic interventions."

Only 150 tickets available since the concept of the show is to recreate the ambience of the bygone days, an intimate gathering of art lovers. This will be a limited seating, by-invite-only show.
